Two of Sara Duterte's triplets have no heartbeat
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Davao City on Thursday confirmed that two of the triplets of Mayor Sara Duterte were found to have no heartbeat.
"She was told about the fetal demise Monday," CIO Jefry Tupas told GMA News Online. "She cried all day Monday."
Before going to the doctor that day, Duterte, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, went to a wake of one of the victims of the Roxas Night Market bombing and to the flag ceremony at the City Hall.
Davao City, the president's hometown, was rocked by a powerful explosion at a popular night market on September 2. Fourteen people were killed while 70 others were injured.
The mayor relieved former Task Force Davao (TF Davao) commander Colonel Henry Robinson because of the bombing incident.
On Thursday, Duterte attended the turnover rites for new TF Davao Commander Colonel Erwin Neri.
In an interview after the ceremony, Duterte confirmed that her identical twins were said to have no heartbeats but the third child is still fighting to survive.
Duterte's announcement about losing two of her triplets came nearly three weeks after she issued a statement about her pregnancy.
She admitted having a hard time due to complications of a multifetal pregnancy but promised to continue doing her job as city mayor. — VVP, GMA News
